Saiwa Swamp National Park is located near the town of Kitale in Trans-Nzoia County, Rift Valley Province. Its the smallest national park in Kenya, with a total area of about 3 km2. It was established to provide a home for the Sitatunga, a rare aquatic antelope species. The national park contains a wide range of tree species. In Kenya, Saiwa Swamp National Park is the smallest tour destination park. Yet, it has many species, including plants, birds, insects, and reptiles. Saiwa Swamp National Park is a sanctuary for the Sitatunga antelope and a haven for birdwatchers.
